Learning to Believe in Yourself

Learning to Believe in Yourself

Where do you see yourself one year from now? Will it look just like today? Would you like to be living your passion? I will share with you three powerful steps so you, too, can live the abundant life you long for.

Step 1: Create Practices

Connect with God. Pray every day.

No one, after lighting a lamp, puts it away in a cellar nor under a basket, but on the lampstand, so that those who enter may see the light.”  Luke 11:33

Do you hide from life or do you embrace it? When you start with Jesus it will empower your day with ease. Bring the light into your life and allow it to shine. The lamp is Jesus Christ.

Create the practice to connect with God every day. For example you can pray ACTS.

A= Adoration:  acknowledge God for whom He is.
C= Confession:  confess your sins to God, ask for forgiveness  and forgive those you need to forgive.
T= Thanksgiving:  thank God for the good, the bad and yes even the ugly.
S= Supplication: ask God to supply your needs and the needs of others.

When you start your day with Jesus it sets the tone. You start with a clear perspective. Other ways you can connect with God is to read the Bible, listen to worship music or spend time with fellow believers.

Step 2: Become Aware

Take out the trash of your heart. Stop allowing darkness to reign in your heart.

“The eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is clear, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is bad, your body also is full of darkness. Then watch out that the light in you is not darkness.”   Luke 11:34-35

The lamp is Jesus and the eye is you;the more there is of you the less there is of Jesus! If your eye is doing what is pleases you become less sensitive to God’s presence in your life. For it is what’s in your heart that is shining through. If it is darkness such as un-forgiveness, resentment, or revenge that will reflect in everything you do.

  • Surrender your past to God and let it go
  • Forgive those that wronged you
  • Get rid of sinful desires that are blinding you

If therefore your whole body is full of light, with no dark part in it, it will be wholly illuminated, as when the lamp illuminates you with its rays.” Luke 11:36

Become aware of what’s in your heart. Surrender to God and allow His love, His light to reign in your heart.

“Super Power” Step 3: Start Your Journey

Are you willing to take a leap of faith? Trust Jesus like Peter did.

In Matthew 14:22-33, Peter in the middle of the storm went out of the boat and walked to Jesus; but, when he saw the wind he started sinking. He cried out, “Lord, save me!” Jesus reached out and lifted him up. Jesus is reaching out to you too.

Five points to help you reach your full potential:

  • Imagine living your passion. Think BIG
  • Set a goal. Write your goal on a piece of paper. Place it where you see it every day!
  • Buy a year calendar. Fill in the dates towards your goal, they’ll become a reality.
  • Commit to succeed. Write out positive affirmations.
  • Pray at all times throughout this process.

It is your own limited beliefs that are holding you back. Stop buying in to the lies of this world that you are not good enough. God longs for you to reach your full potential. Do not look at the waves and wind in your life keep your eyes on Jesus!
