Live Life Without Regrets

Too much TV, internet, time in bed, doing the little stuff; putting off what is really important and not keeping your commitments and deadlines. Are you living a life with regret? What you do in life is valuable, you are important, especially to God and God longs for you to love your life. I want to share with you three simple, yet super tips on how you can start to live a life without regret!

Yesterday you cannot change, but today YOU can start with a brand new beginning.

Super Tip #1 – Get in focus

“Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise.” Ephesians 5:15

Living with a right focus cannot have a bad result.

It is time for you to wake up, to rise up and “get in focus.” Don’t let excuses like your age or medical problems get in the way. Instead of seeing them as challenges, receive them as opportunities.

Ronald Reagan was President at the age of 75; Michael J. Fox continues to act successfully while battling Parkinson’s disease. You find in the Bible, Abraham was 100 and Sarah was 90 when they had their first child; Moses led the Israelites at the age of 80 and Timothy was very young when he became a leader. You see…nothing is impossible with God.

Starting to live life without regret is to “look carefully,” become aware of your surroundings, and be wise. The next tip is…

Super Tip #2 – Start Living

“Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:16

Are you living each day, each hour, each minute as if you were seizing the opportunity of a lifetime? Are you making the most of your time? In order to see opportunities that come your way you’ll want to know some things about yourself…what is your vision, your mission in life? Who do you live for? What is your purpose?

Recently, I felt like I had fallen into the mode of just surviving life. Have you ever been there? But, then, I experienced a super powerful moment in my life last week. A revelation, you might say. God is so awesome!

I’ve been working what feels like two full-time jobs for quite a while. Daily, I’m being pulled away from what is my passion, what I love doing, to handle current money-making day to day business needs. As I thought over my predicament, the revelation came, a vision to what’s my life’s purpose. My compelling vision helped me realize what it is that I truly want to do, which is serve God. Not just part-time but full-time.

My passion is to share with you the incredible plan God has for your life. To show you how much God values you; and to help you start loving your life, through building a relationship with Jesus Christ. Just the thought of it, puts a huge smile on my face.

Do not allow self-defeating thoughts like: You are not good enough. You are not able to do that. You cannot live your dream. It costs too much… enter in.

Instead, pray, plan and make the best use of your time, seize every opportunity, and push away self-defeating thoughts.

A couple of weeks ago, Gloria, a woman whom I did not know, at the time, came up to me, she said: “Keep shining for Jesus and do not allow anyone to take out the light that Jesus has put in there.” And then she gave me something very special, a mustard seed.

“And the Lord said, “If you had faith like a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and be planted in the sea’; and it would obey you.” Luke 17:6

When you get focused and start living for God and have the faith of a mustard seed, be ready, for the Lord is going to do a great work through you!

Super Tip #3 – Down Time

For years now I have run a full-time daycare business and a growing ministry, the combination of both has led to me working over 80 hours per week. On top of this, I added something new this year, my new year’s resolution. At the time, I’m wondering, how in the world can I add one more thing?

The resolution was to live fully for Jesus for three weeks. I did not want to think bigger because I was afraid I would fail once again. On January 1, 2014 while driving  to a store, I patted myself on the back by saying: “Lord, I am sticking to the speed limit, Ken and I helped a dog on the street in distress, spent time with our children, did not talk on the phone in the car and had our grand-baby spent the night. I have done nothing wrong today.” While driving I heard a quiet voice tell me: “Living for Jesus is not just doing good. It is spending time with me.” I stopped in my thoughts.

Today I am more at peace, loving life and like where it is I’m going. Why? Because spending time with Jesus every day has changed my life and it will for you.

Downtime is the third tip.

“Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:15-17

To understand the will of the Lord is you have to spend time with Him in prayer, devotion, reading and meditating on the Words of the Bible. Get to know God. Ephesians 5 gives you some guidelines in what that would look like.

“But be filled with the Spirit…Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord; always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father; and be subject to one another in the fear of Christ.” Ephesians 5: 18-20

When you draw close to God He will draw close to you; and that is the beginning of a life without regret. To live life with purpose, first get in focus, start living His way and spend (down) time with Him; you will receive real hope, real love, real joy and real faith.

“Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Ephesians 5:15-17
