Love Life As A Mom, Part III

Love Life As A Mom, Part III

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” II Timothy 1:7

God loves you and He has your back! He has given you a spirit of love and power to conquer your fears through Him. When you are weak, He is ready to catch you and carry you through your trials. All you need to do is ask; claim God’s promises.

This is my third week sharing with you steps to help you love your life as a mom. Today I am sharing with you the last of the three steps.

Step 3 – Claim God’s Promises

When you speak out of the abundance of love within your heart it allows God’s Word to fill you up. This will change your attitude and the day becomes a blessing.

Psalm 71 expresses hope and faith in God. The psalmist was thankful for what he had instead of being upset about what he did not. He turned to God instead of his fear.

Three of the promises of God in Psalm 71 are:

God is your rock and your fortress
God is your hope
God is your salvation

In the middle of the Psalm is this incredible verse of an older man. He has dealt with all kinds of trouble and is still working through issues in his life. He praises God in the middle of struggle and fear.

“For Your righteousness, O God, reaches to the heavens, You who have done great things; O God, who is like You? You who have shown me many troubles and distresses will revive me again, and will bring me up again from the depths of the earth. May You increase my greatness and turn to comfort me.” Psalm 71: 19-21

Know that the enemy is defeated. God can restore you. In the psalmist’s moment of panic he did not forget to praise God. Praise is so important because it helps you to remember who God is and what he can do.  Unfortunately, we often forget to thank God for what He has done and to worship him for whom He is. It is so easy to forget this when we are struggling or going through a painful situation. If you are finding it hard try to first think about and praise God for the simple things we take for granted: a sunrise, a sunset, and that you are here today with the capability to fight these struggles with God by your side.

“As for me, I will always have hope; I will praise you more and more” Psalm 71:14

Have you given your problems to God? Have you claimed His promises? Want to share how God has changed your life?
