Winning Your Battles

Winning Your Battles

Each person has small or large battles in their life. The longer the strongholds are, the harder it seems to fight them. I will share four steps that can greatly help you through your battles.

They are found in the book of Judges. The sons of Israel are in a pickle, they walked away from God. The Canaanites conquer the country and heavily oppress them for twenty years. War erupted at their city gates, not a shield or spear could be seen among forty thousand warriors, there were few people left in the villages, women and their precious possessions were taken, it was not safe to walk over the main roads.  Life was a daily battle of their existence. They cried out to God for help.

God provided Judge Deborah whom judged under a tree in the hill country. She summoned Barak and told him the LORD’S battle plan. Barak only was willing to declare war against the enemy if Deborah joined him in this war. There was a great victory. God removed the strongholds.God wants to do the same with your strongholds and the matters in your neighborhood, your city, and your country. There are four steps to fight your battle.

Step 1: Get Up

Arise! For this is the day in which the LORD has given Sisera (Stronghold) into your hands; behold, the LORD has gone out before you.” -Judges 4: 14

There are two key points to go to battle:

  1. Arise, you need to get up and not stay in your state of defeat, start looking at your options and pray fervently for God to show you the way.
  2. God has gone before you. Follow His lead.

Step 2:  Wake up

Awake, awake, Deborah; Awake, awake, sing a song! Arise, Barak, and take away your captives, O Son of Abinoam.” -Judges 5: 12

The word awake is mentioned four times in Judges 5:12. There were 75% fellow warriors that sat, remained, had great indecision, stayed home, and sat unmoved.

The longer you stay unmoved the stronger your battle will become. Wake up and see that Satan is trying to keep you where you are at. Arise and take away your captives. HOW! Know that God is bigger than your problem.  TRUST IN HIM and arise.

Step 3:  Move Forward

O my soul, march on with strength.” -Judges 5: 21

Marching in God’s strength means, the provision of Gods strength revealed in your weakness.  For example God parting the Red sea, God providing manna, God removed the walls in Jericho. Joshua prayed for boldness and courage and marched forward. God is asking you to do the same. Pray for strength and march forward in His strength.

Step 4: Rise in Gods’ Might

But let those who love Him be like the rising of the sun in His might.” -Judges 5: 31

Give your battle each day to God and trust him. Rise like He is in charge and you are to follow Him. Know that God is mighty. When you follow Gods lead then you will be able to say as the Psalm says:

They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces will never be ashamed.” Psalm 34:4
