Gossip is Against God’s Will

When I used to get upset, I would call at least three friends and tell them how I felt to try and justify my feelings. But it did not make a difference in the way I felt and neither did it make me feel justified. NOT getting offended is choosing PEACE of mind AGAINST antagonism. This response turns it into a blessing instead of a curse, not only for you, but also for the one who offended you. The real answer is to not react but to respond like Jesus, HIS way.

Jesus was confronted by a group of religious leaders who put in front of Him a woman that was caught in adultery. They wanted Jesus to condemn this woman.  He did not react instantly, instead He slowly drew in the sand.  When HE responded, it was, “He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.” No one did, the accusers left, one by one, starting with the oldest to the youngest.

The Scriptures say:

“If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.. Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.”

— 1 Peter 3:10-11 NLT

It feels good to justify yourself by talking to others about what happened to you. However, this is not of God, especially if it is meant to harm the one that caused you to feel offended. By doing this, you are contributing to Satan’s plan to take as many away from God as possible. Put your “WIGS” on: WHAT IS GOD SAYING? When you tune into what God is saying, it changes your walk and talk.

“In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself.”

— James 3:5-6 NLT

What is in your heart is what comes out of the mouth. You will say things you never meant to say, and you do not say the things you meant to say. Once un-forgiveness is in your heart it is Satan that takes the reins. So, beware… What comes out of your mouth is set on fire by hell itself!
