Choose to Forgive

Choose to Forgive

Just a couple of weeks ago when I asked God how I, having never experienced the terrible things that others have, tell people to forgive? The answer came instantly, Jesus said: “Tell them that I was abandoned, rejected, tortured, betrayed and murdered. That I know how they feel.”

WOW, even while Jesus was on the cross he forgave the horror that was being done to Him. If Jesus can forgive so can you.

“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you. But if you refuse to forgive others, your Father will not forgive your sins”

— Matthew 6:14-15 NASB

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure”

— 1 Corinthians 10:13 NASB

When you choose to forgive those who have hurt you; it opens the door for God to heal your wounds and transform you by the renewing of your mind into a state of victory instead of defeat. This is the first step to moving forward and stop living in the past.

You can pray as simple prayer as:

“Dear Jesus, I choose to forgive ……… for……….,

help me to work through this process and heal the deep wound inside of me.”

Wendy Reynolds suffered major injuries and lost her whole family in a head on collision with a driver who was under the influence. She lost her mom, dad and sister. The driver showed no remorse, how do you overcome?

This is so true, Barb. The freedom in forgiving those who hurt you, is so amazing. I’m able to enjoy my little girl, Saije and enjoy others. Amen.
