Dressed for Success: Helmet of Salvation

Helmet of Salvation

Now days the relying on the natural is the norm. But in God’s world, it is the super natural that is the normal. When we start living from GOD’S perspective instead of our own we start entering in the super natural and this is where people start seeing God alive in their lives.

While in the bank, I noticed a teller had their head down on the desk, as if taking nap.  I greeted her and ask, “Are you okay?”

Instantly, she turned her head to look behind her to see if the other employee that looked like a manager had noticed. “My head hurts, it hurts all the time.”

I offered to pray and she nodded yes.  We prayed and Holy Spirit revealed to me it had to do with blood circulation in her head and un-forgiveness. She listened intently.  I told her what I thought the problem was and she wanted to know who I was.  We talked about Valentine’s Day that was coming up. She told me that her and her husband had not celebrated Valentines for the last six years.

“You can start this year,” I encouraged.

“I do not want to.”  That was the moment the un-forgiveness in her heart really showed up. It explained the tension and the headaches. Forgiveness was key for the help God wanted to offer her, and she said she did not want to and for that moment HAD MADE UP HER MIND.  We make choices with our mind.

Who do you need to forgive? Let us help by praying with you.

Your soul is your mind, your will and your emotions. Do you remember the old Donald Duck cartoon. Where Donald Duck had on one side on his shoulder an angel and on the other side the devil. Each side tried to convince Donald Duck in what to do. One side was up to no good and the other side was the right thing to do.

In the decisions that we make, they are usually based on what takes place in our heart. For example, if there is a lot of un-forgiveness, anger, and frustration in our heart, we listen to the voice that will stir us into the rights we think we have why we are upset to begin with and this is what I call you own up to your trouble because we have rights.  That is the worst you can do for yourself. It is time to put on the helmet of salvation and dress for success.

And take the helmet of salvation.”  – Ephesians 6:17a

The Helmet of Salvation is our mind enclosed in truth. Salvation means peace, prosperity, forgiveness of sin, deliverance, healing, mental soundness, preservation freedom from the law of sin and death. Our mind is like a computer that runs our body.  And our will is a decision place. To take the helmet of salvation. Is to take it, claim it, own it and hold on to it.  You have to have the mindset of salvation!

For example let’s imagine that you have a big debt and someone comes by and it is paid in full. How would you feel if your house payment or car payment is paid in full? Great right!!! You would feel like a million bucks. You could jump five feet in the air. It is like a layer of heaviness a burden has fallen of your shoulders. It feels great, and awesome.

That is what it is like when you have the mindset of salvation. Your life in the miracle of your salvation and with knowing that God is inside you and that HE that is in you is greater than is in the world. It is like starting to see the world through His eyes instead of your own.

To put take on the helmet of salvation is having the mindset on the promises of GOD, instead of the promises of the world.

Satan likes to keep you in discouragement and doubt.  To the point of failure.  He points to everything that is wrong or negative in your life.

Have the mindset that you can get healed. (Imagination – hope – faith)

Have the mindset that you can have prosperity

Having the mindset and thinking from the perspective from the moment you were born again.

Paul in Corinthians is talking to those that already believe in Jesus Christ.

But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:8

Hope brings security. It is the strength of the believer without hope what is there to believe in? Hope gives confidence and assurance. Phillip was able to face his accusers still even while being stoned because of the hope in salvation.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Life Changing Tip

  • Start seeing your life in eternal perspective instead of the present moment.
  • Do not receive negativity that is said to you unless you need to hear it to grow. Instead say I do not receive that! So, you will not start to own what is said about you.
  • Spent time being quiet and listening to God. At least 30 minutes a day. What this does even if it seems boring in the beginning you will start to recognize and hear Holy Spirit lead and guide you. It will help you to transform the mind and to no longer be conformed to the world.
  • When you start to hear it might take you a bit of time and practice. That is okay. When you quiet the mind you will start hearing Holy Spirit talk to you.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith.” – Romans 2:2-3 (NASB)
