Open the Door

The Open Door
When I accepted Jesus Christ as my LORD and Savior into my heart, I was 14 years old. While at a Camp my friend and I passed one of the camp leaders in the hallway towards the dining hall. Excited, she shared with us: “Guess what, Jennifer just accepted Jesus.” She was so filled with joy that she was jumping in the air and so we jumped with her. That very moment there was a longing desire to know Jesus. Even, if everyone thought I was a Christian, I had never made that step of asking Jesus to come into my heart. So, that night at the lower part of the bunk, underneath the warm blankets in the dark on my knees.  I prayed:

“Dear Jesus, will you come into my heart, forgive me for my sins (mistakes). I believe you died on the cross because of my sins and rose on the third day.  Amen.”

The joy afterwards was real, genuine, and freeing. I belonged, felt accepted, and was eager to change my life.

Years later, I felt that I had made so many mistakes, that I cried out to God to take me back! DO you know that God never leaves you or forsakes you? I cried for forgiveness and if God would take me back. Guess what, HE DID!  My life has been an incredible journey ever since. Jesus wants to do the same for you.

We all have a free will and a choice to choose “good” or “bad.” The bad is called sin. This sin keeps us away from God because a wall was built between Him and us. This wall could be stealing, lying, gossiping, unforgiveness, etc. God sees the wall that we created and came up with an incredible sacrificial solution to give us another chance. He sent His own son, Jesus, who never sinned, to take our punishment on the cross. So if we believe in Him, we can get right with GOD and have eternal life with HIM. Only a God of love could come up with a plan like this.

Starting your journey with Jesus is life-changing. It is like learning to live into a brand new home. It is up to us how much we will use the rooms in this home and how awesome this journey will be.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me.”    Jesus Christ – Revelation 3:20

How to Start: Open the Door for Jesus

… if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.” – Romans 10:9-10

You Can Pray Something Like This:

“Dear LORD JESUS, I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank You for saving me and giving me a clean slate and eternity with You in heaven.

If you prayed this prayer, believing what you said, congratulations! You now have started to break down the wall you built to keep God out of your life.  This is like walking in the door of a brand new house and standing in the hallway. The best part is that God wants to give you the whole house and give you more even beyond the fence in the back yard. He wants to put you on a journey of abundant life with HIM. Scripture says: “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.”

We would like to hear from you.
